Ball State Esports Production

Starting in 2023, I got involved with Ball State University's Esports Production program. Since then I have worked in every tech position on various streams. Positions include Audio Engineer, Video Director, Assistant Video Director, Technical Director, Observer, and Twitch Mod. Currently I am a lead, and I have especially taken interest in Dante systems and the TF1 console provided. Other programs and equipment we use include NDI, OBS, Studio Technologies intercoms, and a Tricaster.

The video games we stream include varsity matches of League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch 2, and Rocket League. Other streams happen all the time as well, which include games such as Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, Clone Hero, and much more. Tune in to twitch.tv/ballstateuniversity to watch the streams live!

2025 Ball State Esports 24 Hour Charity Stream

In the fall of 2025, I was one of the three co-producers of our annual 24 hour stream. Although I have participated in this stream the past two years, this was my first opportunity to help run things and we raised the technical standards by a lot. Custom presets for every tech element were made so that we could put on a unique stream that would inspire community participation and produce our most complicated stream up to this point.

With 21 planned stream segments and many more donation goals planned, there was a lot of tech to figure out ahead of time and on the spot. The majority of segments allow for students on campus to sign up ahead of time to participate in. Running this stream on a low budget took a lot of knowledge, communication, and dedication to make things run properly. I was the main person in charge of creating a new audio setup for stream, creating all of the crew and player schedules, and creating a custom discord server so that communication with other production members and players could receive all the information they needed to know ahead of time.

The charity we chose to support for this stream was Gamer's Outreach. Go check them out if you don't know who they are, because they help support and provide entertainment for those who don't necessarily have a ton of access to it. We ended up raising $1600 and hope to achieve even more in future years.

The stream is up on Youtube for anyone to watch, so go check it out if you want to look at it yourself. Our most popular segment every year tends to be the mystery game tournament, but every moment of stream has something fun to stick around for!
